On Friday, both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic won their semifinal matches, setting them up for their fifth finals matchup of the 2011 season. This will be their first finals matchup on grass and their first match in the finals of a major. These two players have dominated this season, and while Djokovic leads the season series 4-0, each match has been extremely close. In the Wimbledon final, we should not expect a difference.

This is Djokovic's best chance to win Wimbledon. He is playing well, and Nadal seems to be slightly struggling from his foot injury.  Look for Djokovic to get off to a quick start and keep his foot on the throttle. In recent rounds, Djokovic has had trouble closing out, and it is clear that the fact that he was closing in on the No. 1 ranking was causing him trouble. However, now that he has claimed the No. 1 spot, look for him to be refocused on winning Wimbledon.

On Sunday, Nadal will be attempting to win his 11th major title and his second consecutive Wimbledon. If Nadal is unable to win, the ranking points gap between him and Djokovic will grow, and heading into the U.S. Open series, it will be even harder for Nadal to close the gap.  Which makes this matchup all the more important.

Sunday should be a great day for tennis. It will be a close match either way, and it will always seem as if either player has an opportunity to win. This being said, I believe that Djokovic will beat Nadal in a five-set thriller.
